About Us and Kozy Cabin Retreat

We first fell in love with Murphy, NC a few years ago and love to spend time here in the mountains. So much so, that we purchased this adorable log cabin in Wilderness Walk. We had so much fun hunting for décor and furnishing so our cabin will be cozy and make you and your family feel right at home. There is so much to do in our community and surrounding areas. Please check our Area Links Page and have fun deciding just what to do. We enjoy our time at Kozy Cabin and hope that you and your loved ones will too.

Living area:

Wrap yourself up in one of the cuddly throws and settle on the sofa or recliner for some TV watching in front of the fireplace. Stream or watch your favorite shows on our Roku Smart TV, a movie on DVD,  or access Netflix or other apps.. Or take a break from TV watching to spend some time playing one of the board games provided. Feel like reading? We have several books for both grown-ups and kids. No matter what you plan on doing, we hope that you find it relaxing and enjoyable. Our comfy sleeper Sofa pulls out for a full size memory foam bed. Sleeps 2.

Kitchen/Dining area:

Why eat out, when you have a fully stocked kitchen at your disposal. We have provided everything you need for a home cooked meal or even simple snack. No matter what you want to prepare, you will find all the utensils, cookware, dishes and silverware needed including a slow cooker, blender and hand mixer. No need to hand wash dishes, just rinse and stack in the dishwasher, giving you more time to relax. 

The dining table comfortably seats 4, but you can expand by lifting the (4) fold down leafs and adding the chairs from the kitchen bar to sit 6 comfortably (or 8 using the 2 fold up bar stools behind the master bedroom door). We have even provided some table linens to make your meal more intimate and inviting.

No cell service? No problem! Our land line is just the thing. Provide your family our number so they can reach you: 828-644-1820. Or if your cell phone allows, you can enable wifi calling on your device.

Master bedroom:

Plenty of room on the king size bed to snuggle with the kiddios or just the 2 of you. A 39” Roku Smart TV is provided for your watching pleasure. And when it comes to bathing, feel free to relax in the jetted tub in the adjoining private master bath.

2nd Bedroom:

Kids or another couple? No problem. Our 2nd bedroom includes a queen size bed and has Smart TV as well. Just steps away is another full bathroom with a tub.

In the hall closet there is a stackable washer/dryer, so you can go home without loads of dirty clothes to wash. 

Front porch/deck:

Mountain living means spending time outside and our deck with the love seat glider and 2 rocking chairs is just the place. Enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon snack or just gazing at the stars here. Many birds and butterflies to enjoy during the day and you may even see a few deer in the early night. Feel free to play a round of darts. Just please supervise children so no one gets hurt.

Love grilling? Fire up the gas BBQ grill and put on some steaks or chicken. Caught some fish from one of Murphy’s rivers or lakes, grill it too! Dine out on the patio table and enjoy the outdoors.

Outside:

Time in the mountains would not be complete without roasting marshmallows and S’mores from around the campfire on the lawn. Telling stories, acting out skits and enjoying the company of your loved ones is why you came to the mountains in the first place. Before retiring for the night, just make sure the fire is out. We wouldn’t want a fire to disturb your slumber. 

Interested in an early evening hike? We are on Walk Trail after all. Take a stroll down the street to our community’s nature trail and pond area. Or stay close to the cabin on our short nature trail right on property

Head right from our driveway and take a left at the end of Walk Trail (end of street). The community nature trail is just a short way down. Be sure to sit a spell near the pond and just enjoy the scenery. A table is provide to enjoy a picnic lunch.
